Minnehaha Falls- All School Field Trip

We enjoyed our last All School Field Trip of the 2013-2014 School Year on June 3rd to Minnehaha Falls.  The students were able to hike with their classes and explore the area in the morning.  In the afternoon we came together as a school and had many different activities planned.  It was a great way to end our year and enjoy being together! Talent Show 2014

The New City Charter School Talent Show was held on March 21st, 2014.  The whole school had a wonderful time watching and participating in one of our favorite events here at New City.  Thanks to all the students for their hard work performing or supporting our performers, to the families for their support and the staff for their hard work as well.

Title I, ELL, & SPED Night!

New City hosted another successful Title I, ELL, & Sped night on Thursday March 13th, 2014. The night was filled with food, music, and activities. Just a few of the activities we had involved were reading to families, playing games, making a book, discussing highlights of the year, and even picking out a free book for the student! We would like to thank all the families for joining us this year to make it another great event!

Pennies for Patients

PENNIES FOR PATIENTS FUNDRAISER!! The Student Council put together the pennies for patients fundraiser this year to help raise money supporting blood cancer research and treatments.  The student council set a goal of $250 for 3 months of donations.  They decided on this number because they thought then it would equal to around a dollar a student.  Our students pushed themselves and exceeded their goal! They raised $640 for Pennies for Patients! We are so thankful to all our students and their families for helping us and donating! The students are also looking forward to Mr. Jit having pink spiked hair for a day since we raised over our goal! THANK YOU NEW CITY SCHOOL COMMUNITY!

Minneapolis School Fair Showcase

We recently attended the Minneapolis School Fair Showcase at the Convention Center downtown.  We were surrounded by many educators and families all in the interest of children.  It was a joy to be a part of it.  We had our spanish speaking and somalian speaking educational assistants with us.  We really enjoyed being a part of this event and seeing you all there!
